My first Machlis experience was in August 2004. Since then I go often, for the love and teaching, but also a small part of me keeps wanting to see if it is really "real". It is more than real--in all my years (they are many) I have never seen anything that even comes close. It has been my honor to get to know the family over the years and I am always awed and humbled. This family can only be described one way...Pure Unblemished Love! I pray that Hashem provides all their needs as they have joyously provided for others.

I have had so many wonderful experiences both in the Machlis home and learning from Rav Machlis as my Rebbe in yeshiva. His message of love and sensitivity for all Jews has had a profound impact upon my life.
I wish that the Machlis home can expand and many more people can learn from them as I have. I hope those that have already had the Machlis experience and all those that champion the cause of achdus amoung klal yisroel give... and give generously.

A regular one of your widows and orphans...

I feel speechless every time i try to put into words to g-d and to you my deep appreciation for your profound godly influence upon my life.

there are no words to describe what your shabbat meals... or should i say "shabbat spiritual experiences" over the past year have meant to me in my personal journey for the truth. THANK YOU!
last night on my way to work, i walked a way i never walk to catch my bus... and now i know why! i met a regular attender at your shabbat table who told me about your web site, now i know i met this person divinely appointed of hashem...

because after work i spent 3 hours (6:30-9:30am) reading EVERYTHING on the web site and shedding many tears & praying. the whole time i read it, i felt holy presences... angels around me. your "chesed" is VERY, VERY H-O-L-Y work; angels , as well as humans are witnesses of this.

henny you are "aishes chayil"! rabbi, you are " well known in the councils"... you are an "elder of the land" of israel!

you both are receiving the fruits of your hands... and you are being praised in the gates of jerusalem by your very own deeds.(proverbs 31).

i love you both most dearly.

B"H I first attended some of Rabbi Machlis' shabbat meals in the summer of 2003. From the first it was clear that his whole family is very special and loving. So many people have received so much from knowing the Machlis family, myself included. A love and profound knowledge of Judaism, chesed, warmth and respect for all are in the very fabric of the Machlis home.

most amazing thing on earth

what a beautiful Mitzvah you do I dont know anyone in the world who does what you are doing and with so much love and passion, you are like angels. I pray to G-D that he should give you the strength and the resources for this great kindness you and your family perform with so many people.

unforgettable

I went for a shabbos at the Machlis' house two summers ago, and i will never forget such warmth and hospitality.. They themselves are shining examples of what Jews should aspire to.

The Machlises are the greatest Chessed warehouse I know. I've had the true honor and privilege of getting to know Harav Mordechai and Rebbitzen Henny over the course of a few years and what they do is absolutely out of this world. I couldn't imagine donating to a worthier cause.

May God bless them with the ability to do so so much more. May they have the ability to invite many hundreds of people each Shabbat to the amazing sanctification of God's name that they call "home".

aharon ,

This is beyond words!

I was very moved by the article, knowing the Machlis's personally. The experience is very heartwarming. How Rabbi and Reb. Machlis give of themselves and devote themselves to making others feel good, whether it's Shabbos, or one has to just pour out his heart, or just for some company, the Machlis's are always there to help with a smile, love, and concern. He is like the Avraham Avinu of our generation with his hospitality and like the Berditchever Rebbe who was the defender of every single person, looking at every situation in a positive light.
Surely, one who helps support them financially has a great merit and has a share in this great chessed/kindness.

May Hashem give them the strength to keep on bringing light to the world and to all those individuals who enter their wonderful home.

Shalom ,

I first enjoyed a Shabbat Dinner at the Machlis Home February 21, 2004 just before I was set to start a 10 week Volunteering Program here in Israel. I was impressed with the positive atmosphere and spiritually enriching words of Torah I heard & how 1 family was able to bring such an enjoyable Shabbat experience to so many people. I remember thinking, wow, this is a lot of guests and yet, their was still plenty of amazing food to go around & everyone enjoyed Shabbat.

Since then, I have enjoyed attending classes on Tuesday nights at 8:45 p.m. at the Machlis home, many Shabbat dinners, lunches & a truly wonderful Minyan Shabbat Mornings at the Western Wall led by Rabbi Machlis.

I finally made Aliyah this past summer, July 2006 & now I look forward to many more great experiences with the Machlis family. I can't say thank you enough for the continually positive outlook on life & bright smiles that welcome & see off guests to the Machls Home.
